Project Description
The new Reeves Day Surgery Centre (RDSC) is located across the road from the main hospital. It is part of Tallaght University Hospital (TUH).
This project was a design build collaboration with a team headed up by Townlink Construction. The facility is 3,460 m2 inclusive of 4 full theatres c/w prep suites and 25 recovery beds.
From the initial basis of a client outline design brief, MedProGas worked closely with the Client (TUH) and Homan O’Brien through a series of workshops to develop what would be the finalised packaged build.
The brief was to provide a facility for patients that need elective surgery under general or local anaesthesia or sedation and are scheduled to go home on the same day following their procedure. The complete medical gas package as provided and commissioned by MedProGas included Medical Plant / Theatre Pendants / Bedhead Systems / Theatre Control Panels and Plant and Local Alarms. Initially 3 Theatres were completed (as part of Phase 1) and 12 months after opening the 4th Theatre fit out commenced. The complete system was successfully signed off to HTM 0201 standards within budget and on programme.
